Cancellation Policy

Appointment Cancellation/No Show Policy

At Dr. Elijah Brown Family & Implant Dentistry we strive to provide excellent dental care to all our patients. When an appointment is scheduled, that specific time has been reserved for you. When it is missed, that time cannot be used to treat other patients without adequate notice.

As of July 1, 2019 our cancellation policy is as follows:

1. Cancellations: We understand that emergency situations arise in which you must cancel your appointment due to work, family emergency, or illness. If at all possible, we request that you provide our office with 24 hours notice, which will allow us to schedule another patient during that appointment time. In the event there are two or more cancellations within a 12 month period that patient will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. This fee cannot be covered by your dental benefit plan and will be your direct responsibility. No future appointments can be scheduled nor can records be transferred without the payment of this fee.

2. No Show: A “no-show” consists of missing an appointment without cancelling the appointment with proper notice. This includes arriving late enough to your scheduled appointment time that it must be rescheduled (see item #3). Patients who no show more than once will be subject to a $50 missed appointment fee. This fee cannot be covered by your dental benefit plan and will be your direct responsibility. No future appointments can be scheduled nor can records be transferred without the payment of this fee.

3. Scheduled Appointments: We understand that delays can happen, however, we strive to keep other patients and providers on time. If a patient arrives 20 minutes past their scheduled time for an appointment, we will have to reschedule that appointment. If a patient arrives late but inside of the 20 minute window, the amount of treatment rendered during that appointment time may have to be adjusted accordingly.

4. No cancellations will be accepted through the answering or messaging service. If you need to cancel or reschedule please speak to a team member so we can get your appointment rescheduled and prevent a lapse in treatment.

We understand that special and unavoidable circumstances may cause you to cancel with less than 24 hours notice. In this instance, fees may be waived, but only with management approval. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please let our team know and we will be glad to clarify any questions you may have. Thank you for your understanding.
